Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 18, 2026
ToolNXT (“ToolNXT,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a collection of free, browser-based tools for working with PDFs, images, text, code, and other files, built and operated by KonnectNXT. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how and why we process it, and the choices available to you when you use tools-dhb1z3hnr-admins-projects-0be47921.vercel.app and its tools (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
1. The short version
Most tools on ToolNXT run entirely inside your own browser. When a tool is client-side — which is the default, and is the case for the large majority of tools — your files, text, and images are processed locally on your device using your browser’s own JavaScript engine. They are never transmitted to us, never touch our servers, and we have no technical ability to see them. Closing the tab is enough to make that data gone, on both ends, because we never received a copy in the first place.
A small number of tools additionally offer an optional server-assisted mode — for example, a “Server” option on some image- and PDF-compression tools — for processing that genuinely benefits from more computing power than a browser can reliably provide. These are always clearly labeled in the product with an amber “uploads to our server” indicator, both before you run the tool and in the result. Section 3.2 below explains exactly what that involves and how briefly that data is held.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Files and content you process — client-side tools
For any tool marked with our green “runs entirely in your browser” indicator, whatever you upload, type, or paste is processed locally using your device’s own resources (JavaScript, WebAssembly, and the Canvas API, depending on the tool). It is not uploaded, not transmitted over the network, and not visible to us in any form — technically, structurally, there is no request that would carry it to a server for these tools.
2.2 Files and content you process — server-assisted tools
Where a tool offers a “Server” or “Strong” processing mode, choosing it will upload the specific file you’re working on to our servers for that one operation. Concretely:
- What happens to it: the file is held in memory only for the duration of that request, processed (for example, re-encoded to a smaller file size), and the result is streamed back to you in the same response.
- What we don’t do: we do not write the file to a database or persistent disk storage, we do not open, view, review, analyze, or use its contents for any purpose other than performing the requested operation, we do not use it to train any model, and we do not share it with any third party.
- Retention: once the processed result has been returned (or if the request fails or times out), the file is discarded. It is not cached, backed up, or retained by us in any form. Routine infrastructure logs may note that a request to that endpoint occurred (see §2.3) — those logs do not include the file’s content.
- It’s your choice: server-assisted modes are opt-in. Where a tool offers one, a client-side (fully local) alternative is available for the same task, and the interface tells you which one you’re about to use before you run it.
2.3 Automatically collected technical information
Like effectively every website, our hosting infrastructure automatically logs certain technical information whenever you access the Service, for security, abuse-prevention, and reliability purposes — typically your IP address, browser and device type (user agent string), the page or endpoint requested, referring URL, and timestamps. We do not currently combine this data with any analytics or advertising platform, and we do not use it to build a profile of you or your activity. If that changes (for example, if we add privacy-respecting product analytics in the future), we will update this policy first.
2.4 Cookies and local storage
sidebar_statecookie: purely functional. It remembers whether you last had the sidebar navigation expanded or collapsed, expires after 7 days, and is never read by anything other than your own browser — our servers don’t inspect it or use it for tracking.- Local storage — theme preference: your light or dark mode choice is stored only in your browser’s local storage.
- Local storage — Notepad tool: if you use the Notepad tool, its contents are saved to your browser’s local storage so they persist between visits on that device. This is never transmitted to us.
- We do not use third-party advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or cross-site tracking technology of any kind.
2.5 Information we do not collect
The Service does not require account registration. We do not collect your name, email address, payment information, or other personal identifiers in order for you to use any tool. We do not sell personal information — we don’t have a meaningful amount of it to sell, and wouldn’t if we did.
3. How and Why We Use Information
We use the limited information described above only to:
- Provide, run, and return the result of the tool you selected.
- Secure the Service against abuse, fraud, and denial-of-service activity, using the technical logs described in §2.3.
- Remember interface preferences you’ve set (sidebar state, theme) on your own device.
- Diagnose and fix bugs or reliability problems.
We do not use your information for advertising, for building a profile of you, or for any automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Data Retention
- Client-side processed files: not applicable — we never receive them.
- Server-assisted processing: discarded immediately once the response is sent, per §2.2.
- Cookies: the
sidebar_statecookie expires after 7 days, or sooner if you clear it. - Local storage: persists on your device until you clear your browser’s site data or use private/incognito browsing.
- Infrastructure logs: retained by our hosting provider for a limited period for security and operational purposes, then rotated out in the ordinary course of business.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We may share the limited technical data described above with:
- Our hosting and infrastructure providers, strictly to operate the Service — they process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- Law enforcement or other parties, only if required to comply with valid legal process, to protect our rights or property, or to prevent harm, and only to the extent legally required.
We do not share the content of files you upload — in either client-side or server-assisted tools — with any third party for any purpose.
6. Data Security
All traffic to the Service is encrypted in transit via HTTPS/TLS. Server-assisted processing happens in memory and is not persisted to disk. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security — but the Service is deliberately architected to minimize how much of your data we ever handle in the first place. For the majority of tools, the strongest protection is structural: we simply never receive your files at all.
7. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to address it.
8. International Users
The Service is accessible globally, and our hosting infrastructure may process requests in one or more countries other than your own. By using the Service, you understand that the limited information described in this policy may be processed in a jurisdiction with different data protection laws than your own.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation or the California Consumer Privacy Act to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, and to receive a copy of it in a portable format. Because we collect so little personal information to begin with — no accounts, no persistent storage of your files — many such requests will simply have little or nothing to act on. You’re still welcome to contact us at contact@konnectnxt.com with any question or request, and we’ll respond within a reasonable time.
10. Do Not Track
We do not track your activity across third-party websites, so there is no cross-site tracking to opt out of. Because this is true regardless of your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting, we do not currently change our behavior in response to that signal — our behavior is already the more restrictive one.
11. Third-Party Links
Pages on the Service may occasionally link to third-party sites or resources. We aren’t responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites, and this policy doesn’t apply to them.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Service or for legal or operational reasons. When we do, we’ll update the “Effective date” at the top of this page. If a change is material, we’ll make a reasonable effort to highlight it. Continued use of the Service after a change becomes effective means you accept the revised policy.
